On the occasion of the Eid-el-kabir celebration, the Secretary to the State Government of Delta State, Hon. Chiedu Ebie, Esq, has extended his warmest and most cordial felicitations to the Arewa, Yoruba and Indigenous Muslims communities in Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State.
Ebie, who believes that Eid-el- Kabir is a feast characterised by sacrifice and solidarity between people, donated Rams to the Muslims communities in commemoration of the celebration and also to all the eleven traditional rulers in both local governments in Ika nation.
Speaking through his representative, Hon. Godwin Ezedom, former S.iA. on Political Matters, Ebie encouraged the Muslims to spend the day together with their loved ones with gifts that God has bestowed upon them.
He urged them to care and look after all those who are in need of help through a demonstration of sense of solidarity and to remember with respect all those who have made living a possibility for them.
Similarly, he enjoined Muslims all over the state to continue to live peacefully and shun acts that are capable of breaching the peaceful coexistence in the state.
“We hope that the Muslim will continue to be guided by the teaching of the Koran which preaches goodwill among mankind.. May you have happiness within your families now and forever.” He stated.
Speaking on behalf of the Muslims, Mr. Shaidu Sani who also doubles as the spokesman of Arewa forum and United Rainbow Peace Movement expressed joy and thankfulness over the gifts presented to them.
His words, “This is the first time this kind of gift is coming to all the different Muslim communities, I mean the Arewa, Yoruba and indigenous Muslim communities. In the past we only here about it but it doesn’t get to us.
“We are very happy with the SSG in the manner in which he has delivered this great gift to us this festive period. We remain grateful to him and we shall continue to pray for him and the governor, Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa who was able to identify such a great leader with immense capacity like Chiedu Ebie. May Allah continue to bless them and give them more wisdom to pilot the affairs of this state.” Shaidu prayed.
In a similar vein, Shaidu, stated that the Muslim communities will continue to support Governor Okowa’s administration as well as remain supportivd to Peoples Ddmocratic Part in the local government.
He however appealed to the SSG and Governor Okowa to remember the Muslims in various government empowerment programmes and to consider them for appointments to serve in different capacities, adding that the Muslim communities have graduates who have administrative capabilities and could fit into different positions as commissioners, special assistants and advisers.
